Gamestation Go: Atari Announces New Portable Console

The portable console market remains vibrant, and the latest development is the Gamestation Go, a new handheld device produced by Atari and unveiled in a post on the social media platform X.

Although announced, the official presentation of the Gamestation Go is scheduled for CES 2025, which takes place starting January 7 in Las Vegas. The device is the result of a year-long partnership between Atari and MyArcade.

In the released trailer, it is evident that the Gamestation Go combines both classic and modern elements. The console features traditional inputs for headphones and SD cards, along with buttons and a digital directional pad.

However, it also includes a numeric keypad and a trackball (command ball), a characteristic of consoles now considered retro.

The current design of the Gamestation Go is an evolution of the prototype showcased at CES 2024, when the device was still called the Gamestation Portable. Changes include aesthetic adjustments and button rearrangements to improve ergonomics and functionality.
