Details come from photos published on Reddit this Sunday (5th), showing the side and back of the controller, which is expected to feature in the new version of Nintendo’s gaming console. The images, according to the post, originated from a Chinese social media platform and only display what seems to be the left-hand controller. In them, you can see the side of the device, featuring the SL and SR buttons and connectors within a blue base used to attach it to the console. On the back, you can spot both the Nintendo branding and certification seals. There’s also a raised section on the top for the ZL button, similar to the current generation of the Switch. There’s no official confirmation from Nintendo regarding the authenticity of these photos. Furthermore, even with the leaks, it’s not entirely clear what innovations the Nintendo Switch 2 will bring. In mid-December, the rumored console appeared in other images, this time shared on X (formerly Twitter), showing a new dock for connecting the Switch 2 to a television. Switch 2 Could Be Announced This Month The Switch 2 also has a potential release date: January 2025. This prediction comes from an unnamed third-party developer, but Nintendo has yet to confirm the expected launch timeline. Previously, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa mentioned that the announcement would be made following a Direct event focused on games. Later, the anticipation for an imminent release was further reinforced during an investors’ meeting.
