Microsoft has just launched Windows 8.1 in the Store, so in case you’re now trying to make sure that your computer can handle it, here are some pretty important details.

Redmond has just launched the official system requirements, which include information for the processors and RAM memory you need to run Windows 8.1 without any significant slowdown in performance.

“If you're running Windows 8 or Windows 7, the best way to tell if your PC and connected devices are ready for Windows 8.1 is to download and run Upgrade Assistant, which scans them and tells you if there is anything you'll need to do before or after updating,” Microsoft explained.

In case you’re running any other version of Windows, here are the system requirements for Windows 8.1:

Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster
RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)
Free hard drive space: 16 GB (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
Graphics card: MicrosoftDirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver
