Necesarul zilnic de zaharide in alimentatia normala se asigura prin hrana,nu numai din zaharul propriu-zis,ci si din alte surse:paine si preparate similare,fructe,legume.Depasirea consumului rational de zaharide duce la aparitia unor boli grave ca:diabetul,hipertensiunea arteriala,obezitatea.
