Procesoarele Intel ATOM au capatat o reputatie proasta din cauza performantelor scazute atat pe segmentul desktop cat si laptop, drept pentru care oficialii de la Intel au decis sa abandoneze brandul ATOM in viitorul apropiat (pentru ca utilizatorii sa nu mai asocieze numele ATOM cu performanata scazuta). Astfel, urmatoarele procesoare din familia ATOM vor fi trecute sub denumirile Pentium si Celeron, sau va fi creat un nou brand.
