Vodafone Romania va trece la o infrastructura de retea bazata in totalitate pe protocolul Internet Protocol (IP), proces care se va incheia in aprilie 2008, a anuntat, operatorul de telefonie mobila.

"????ncepand din aprilie 2008, cand se va incheia acest proces de migrare, Vodafone Romania va utiliza o infrastructura de retea comuna pentru toate serviciile sale, si anume 2G, 3G, voce si transmisii de date pe suport fix, care va aduce o eficienta crescuta si un grad ridicat de disponibilitate a retelei".

Vodafone Romania a ales Huawei Technologies din China pentru dezvoltarea solutiei de comutatie catre tehnologia bazata pe protocol IP. Operatorul este parte a grupului britanic de telecomunicatii Vodafone, cu 8,223 milioane de clienti in Romania, la finele lunii iunie.
