Formatul HD ofera o compresie dubla a fisierelor permitand totodata editorilor sa decodeze informatia aflata doar in anumite zone din imaginea respectiva. Totdata, Microsoft a prezentat un nou set de plug-in-uri HD Photo pentru Adobe Photoshop cu ajutorul carora profesionistii vor putea prelucra imaginile in formatul HD direct din Photoshop.
