Yves Guillermot, un oficial Ubisoft a anuntat in cadrul unei conferinte telefonice ca un nou titlu Assassin's Creed va fi lansat in anul fiscal 2013 (se incheie pe 31 martie 2014). Se pare ca jucatorii vor intra in pielea unui nou personaj principal, iar actiunea va avea loc in alta perioada de timp decat cele in care s-au desfasurat precendentele titluri ale seriei. In alta ordine de idei, se zvoneste ca jocul se va numi Assassin's Creed Black Flag sau Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.
