Pe 20 martie 2013 Valve a lansat prin intermediul STEAM, serviciul Early Access ce ne permite sa jucam titluri care inca se afla in dezvoltare. Suna bine, nu? Din pacate, va voi da si o veste proasta, si anume aceea ca jocurile vor trebui cumparate inainte de a le putea juca, chiar si prin intermediul Early Access. Totusi, sunt si titluri indie, sau care vor fi disponibile gratis, ce pot fi incercate (gratuit) imediat ce sunt incluse in program.
 
Pentru inceput, ne sunt oferite 12 jocuri (numarul acestora crescand remarcabil pe viitor), si anume: Arma 3, Drunken Robot Pornography 1,2 si 3, Kick it!, Gear Up, Gnomoria, Kenshi, Kerbal Space Program, Kinetic Void, Patterns, Prison Architect, StarForge si Under the Ocean.
