Toshiba a anuntat in cadrul CES dezvoltarea unui disc HD DVD-ROM triple layer cu o capacitate de 51GB.

Noul disc poate stoca pana la 7 ore de film in format high definition si are o structura in 3 straturi, fiecare strat fiind capabil sa stocheze 17GB.

Costul de productie pentru noul disc HD DVD-ROM va fi mai mare comparativ cu cel al unui disc HD DVD obisnuit.
