IBM şi-a menţinut poziţia de lider mondial pe piaţa serverelor timp de opt ani consecutiv, potrivit firmei de analiză Gartner. Poziţia de lider la nivel global deţinută de IBM pe piaţa serverelor a fost susţinută de creşterea semnificativă a venitului generat de comercializarea System z.
